Thanksgiving for Kids – Thankful Turkey

thanksgiving-for-kids-1In last weeks Thanksgiving for Kids post I shared several ideas we were going to be doing over the past week and this week to learn about Thanksgiving.

I wanted to share this simple Thankful Turkey craft that we made for a couple of our friends. I used some old glass jars I had on hand, filled them with Cinnamon gum decorated to look like a turkey.

We used construction paper for the feathers and beak and large googley eyes. I used Gorilla glue to attach the eyes and feathers and it was awful. It made large tear-looking globs come out of the eyes.

But it’s the thought that counts, right?!

The boys told me some things they were thankful for about their friends and just about life in general. I wrote each thing down on a turkey feather and that is how our Thankful Turkey was made!

Check out last weeks Thanksgiving for Kids post for more ideas.
