Nigeria – update
2010
I find myself lacking words to adequately describe what we are seeing, what we are doing and what the Lord has been so gently teaching me.
I am in constant amazement of the beauty in this country. From the people to the natural world surrounding us, it is beautiful.
There are so many things to simply observe and enjoy. Like this man who climbed a palm tree to cut down palm leaves that they are using to cover a shelter for a 3 day conference that starts tomorrow. They anticipate over 2,000 people for this conference and so things have been busy preparing for the crowd.
And I am thoroughly enjoying watching my boys – they are most definitely out of their comfort zone in some areas {and still not sleeping well} but they are little troopers and make me so proud. They hate being touched, pinched, hugged, having their curls pulled, being picked up and shaking hands… yet the Nigerian people are ones that touch, pinch, hug, pull curls, pick up and shake hands with little white boys. And yet, despite all that they are joyful and cheerful {most of the time} and I am finding myself falling more and more in love with my little men.
