Ideas for Fathers Day Gifts
2012
I will be away all next week arriving home just before Father’s Day, which will leave me with no time to pull things together. The boys and I have been working on his fathers day gifts for quite awhile now {as you can see by the fact that Wesley still has long hair in the image below!}
Paul has promised not to peek at this post, but just in case he does we have a couple other gifts that aren’t being shared. What I am going to share are two creative, hands on fathers day gifts that are simple, easy and fun for the kids to create.
First is this picture of the boys. I was inspired from another {much better executed!} photograph {and will try to retake this one – GA is limited in it’s flat skylines!}
The boys held paintbrushes up against the sky and I took the above photograph. I then transferred it to the ipad and wrote the “Daddy you hung the moon” on the image. We played around with several ideas and this was the one the boys wanted. It’s printed as a 5×7 and will be framed for his desk.
Another idea for this gift would be to have the child do art work on the image {via an ipad} if they can execute it to look like it’s coming from the paint brush.
Our second gift is going to be the video interview we have done each year. I have the series of questions saved to go over each year and I just love collecting their answers each year! The questions for the video interview are:
1. How strong is daddy?
2. How many bad guys could daddy kill?
3. How do you know daddy loves you?
4. What is daddy’s favorite food?
5. What does daddy like to do?
6. What is daddy’s favorite toy?
7. How old is daddy?
8. Is there anything daddy doesn’t like?
9. What do you think about daddy?
10. Is there anything you want to say to daddy?
I am so excited about this fathers day gift – it always makes me laugh hearing what they have to say about their daddy!
