Quotes and Verses on Neatness for Memory and Copywork

June’s habit was neatness, which we defined as the quality or condition of being suitable and orderly.

I am working on completing the rest of the years quotes and verses for each habit so they can be printed off with ease – also in making these images larger so they can be printed. I have had many requests for that and it’s on my to-do list now!

We kept our copywork and memory work very short for this month due to all of our activities, but here are the three we looked at, copied, and discussed together. Don’t forget the wonderful conversations that can occur about habits just by asking the child “What do you think that means? How can that apply in our lives?”neatness1Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful. -William Morris

neatness2Exactness and neatness in moderation is a virtue, but carried to extremes narrows the mind. -Francois Fenelon

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. -Lou Holtz

  1. Oh I love all three of these! All of them address issues that my kids (and I) are dealing with, whether it is the inability to let go of old or broken or never used/never going to be used stuff, my son’s perfectionist personality getting a bit out of control so that he gets himself stuck on getting one thing perfect and can’t move forward or figuring out how our attitude can change everything. Thanks for sharing!
